How can I arrange and print multiple cards on one sheet?

Arrange one card design or several designs at a shared finished size, then print the PDF sheet at 100%. Check paper size and one sample before batching.

PrintGrid Pro does the arranging part. You give it the design and the finished size, it works out how many fit and lays them out evenly, and the PDF is built at the size you asked for.

Steps

  1. Bring a finished PDF, PNG or JPEG from Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop or your phone. PrintGrid Pro arranges it; it does not redesign it.
  2. PrintGrid Pro builds the PDF at true physical dimensions in millimetres or inches. Choose Actual size or 100% when you print, and select the same paper size as the PDF. Check one printed copy before running the full batch.
  3. Use trim marks or trim lines when you need cutting guides. For edge-to-edge artwork, prepare the background beyond the finished edge in your design file and check the bleed in the preview. A guide cannot create missing artwork.

Choose the workflow for your cards

For repeated copies of one design, open PrintGrid Pro Web, add your finished file, enter its finished dimensions, choose the paper size, and check the preview. Create and download the arranged PDF, then print and measure one sample before printing the batch.

For different designs, use multiple designs at the same size. Give the designs one shared finished size and shape, then set the quantities. This does not mean that unrelated card sizes can share the same layout.

Use the existing two 5 x 7 invitations guide for its specific Letter-sheet example, or the business-card guide for smaller cards. Those guides contain the detailed settings and screenshots.

FAQ

How many cards will fit on my paper?

The count depends on the finished card dimensions, paper size, margins, gaps, bleed, and cutting guides. Check the preview for your settings instead of assuming the example count applies to every design.

Should I use multiple pages per sheet in the print dialog?

For an already arranged PDF sheet, print one PDF page per sheet at Actual size or 100%. Applying a second layout can change the card dimensions. Adobe describes multiple-pages-per-sheet printing as a separate layout operation.

Can I print the PDF in PrintGrid Pro Desktop?

Desktop Free can print an already arranged PDF, including the marks already in that file. Creating a new layout or new guides uses Desktop Pro. Follow the Web versus Desktop guide to choose the appropriate handoff.

What if the card background stops at the cutting edge?

Prepare artwork beyond the finished edge before arranging it. Cutting guides cannot create missing background. The bleed and trim guide explains the preparation.
